Orangeries

An orangery provides a more substantial architectural feel while retaining the benefits of generous glazing. It can work particularly well as a dining area, family room, lounge or entertaining space.

Warm Tiled Roofs

If you want your conservatory to feel more like a natural continuation of your home, a warm roof can provide improved insulation and a more solid interior finish. A Family Business Trusted Across Wimborne Since 1969

David Fennings has been helping people transform their homes since 1969. What began as a local conservatory business has grown into a trusted name across Dorset, including Wimborne, for glazed extensions, warm tiled roofs, windows and doors, and we are still family-run and still working from the same showroom at Sunrise Business Park on the edge of Blandford Forum.
Wimborne has been part of our Dorset patch for years, and our own team handles every stage of the job: the initial design and ideas, planning permission and baseworks, the full build, then the final touches like flooring, blinds and lighting. There are no sub-contracted crews, no hard sales and no gimmicks, just honest work and the same care whether it is a full orangery or a single new door.
If you would like to see the standard of finish before you commit, you are very welcome to visit us. There are several full conservatories on display with tiled floors, furniture, blinds and lighting, alongside an extensive range of aluminium, hardwood and uPVC systems. We are easy to find just off the A350, with ample parking, and it’s a short drive from Wimborne.

Conservatories in Wimborne and the Surrounding Area

Wimborne has a real mix of properties, from Georgian townhouses near the Minster and the town centre to larger homes in Colehill and the surrounding villages. A conservatory that works has to suit the house it’s attached to, not just look good in a brochure.
We take the proportions, materials, roof design and glazing options of your specific home into account, rather than offering one design across the board. Properties in the town centre conservation area often need extra care to get the design and glazing right.
Wherever you are in Wimborne, get in touch and we’ll talk through what would actually work for your property.

Why a Conservatory Adds Value to a Wimborne Home

Neighbourhood

Colehill

A leafy residential area on the edge of Wimborne, known for larger plots and more space than the town centre. It's the kind of setting where a bigger orangery-style extension has room to breathe.

Neighbourhood

Wimborne Town Centre

Narrow Georgian streets built up around the Minster, with a mix of period townhouses and cottages. Much of the centre sits within a conservation area, so any new conservatory or extension needs a design that respects the setting.

Parks & Gardens

Deans Court

A 13-acre historic garden right next to the Minster, with a walled kitchen garden and mature grounds that have been tended for centuries. A reminder of how long this town has cared about its outdoor spaces.

Parks & Gardens

Kingston Lacy

A National Trust house and estate about three miles from Wimborne, with formal gardens, parkland and woodland walks. One of the best-loved green spaces on the town's doorstep.

Landmark

Wimborne Minster

A Saxon and Norman church at the heart of the town, home to a 14th-century astronomical clock, a 17th-century chained library and the Quarter Jack figure that strikes the bells on the tower. It's given the town its name and its identity for over 1,300 years.

Landmark

Walford Mill

A Grade II listed 18th-century mill on the River Allen, just north of the town centre, now a working craft centre with resident makers and a riverside cafe. Proof that Wimborne has always found new uses for its old buildings rather than knocking them down.

Whether you’re close to the Minster or out towards Colehill and Kingston Lacy, a well-designed conservatory lets you enjoy Wimborne’s outlook in comfort all year round. We’ll help you choose a design that suits your home, your street and the local weather.

What our customers say

★★★★★

Correspondence was great

David did my aluminium double glazed bi-folding doors at my house. The service from start to finish was superb. Correspondence was great. And the product is the best as my house backs on to the fleet at Weymouth where we get big south westerly winds carrying all the salt spray. They have been installed for 10 years now and operate and look new.

Just love it, thanks so much David Fennings

Our aluminium framed conservatory has now been up for 20 years and continues to give us as much pleasure as the day it was finished. We live in it for 90% of the year enjoying its warmth and sunshine during winter plus glorious outdoor style in summer. Just love it. Thanks so much David Fennings. A proper job that brings the Med lifestyle to Dorset.
